Matt Lobley is Professor of Rural Resource Management and Director of the Centre for Rural Policy Research. He is a rural social scientist and has spent the last 35 years conducting research for a variety of government, private sector and third sector clients. Matt is a leading expert on farm succession and is Co-Director of the International FarmTransfers project, a global collaborative research initiative exploring the pattern, process and speed of succession and retirement. Matt has spoken about succession extensively across the UK, New Zealand and North America. He is the Co-Editor of Keeping it in the Family International Perspectives on Succession and Retirement on Family Farms and has authored several other publications on farm succession and retirement.
